Day 3 – A Mouthpiece for the LORD

Updated: Jul 21, 2020

“Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and

teach you what you shall speak”.

Exodus 4:12 (ESV)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

“For thus has the Lord said to me:

‘Go, set a watchman, Let him declare what he sees.’”

Isaiah 21:6 (NKJV)

“I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?  What can mere mortals do to me?”

Psalms 56:11 (NLT)

When the “I AM that I AM” called Moses, he was full of questions, doubts, fears, and excuses, to the extent that he even asked God to send someone else to do what he was called to do.  When God shows up and calls you to your destiny, it will be daunting and frightening, and you very well may be tempted to refuse Him, grumble against Him, whine to Him, etc.  But this is what He is saying to you today:

“Do not doubt!  I have called you to be my mouthpiece.  I have not looked at your abilities, but at your obedience.  Do not speak death, but speak life.  For when you speak life, you will see breakthrough.  When you speak death, you cause my plans for you to be nullified.  Guard your mind.  It does not matter who is around you.  I am here.  I will be the one going ahead of you.  Do not worry what men think.  I have not called you to impress them but to declare the things I have shown you!”

Father God, I am asking that you would deposit into your servant a deeper level of trust.  I repent for my unbelief, for not guarding my thoughts, and for speaking death. Make me a person of decisive obedience when I hear You call me, and to speak only life, without giving into the fear of what others will think.  Open my mouth and fill it with your words, so that I would see Your glory fill my life and transform the world around me.

In Jesus’ Name.
