Day 27 – Feeling Robbed?

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 (NIV)

Does everything in your life seem to be going wrong? Are you struggling in your relationships? Are your things falling apart, and you just can’t seem to catch a break. It seems the enemy is swooping down on us stealing everything in his path. Isn’t that the enemy’s job though, to destroy everything in your life until he has destroyed you by causing your heart to turn away from the Father?

We were not created to worship things or people in this world, but to have intimacy with God. Society as a whole has placed emphasis on having things or people in our lives, but it won’t teach you that all of those things will fall short and leave you feeling the void. Then, when things don’t go the way we want them to, we feel cheated.

What do you think God’s intent was when he created you? I believe you were created to have relationship with Him, and anything else you do will not fulfill you the way intimacy with God can. We are only robbed or cheated because we allow the enemy to steal the very things to which he has no right. When we find ourselves entangled with the Holy Spirit, it no longer matters what the enemy is doing because he can’t steal our peace, our joy, or our connection with God.

It is understandable that we have jobs to go to, families to tend to, etc.; but it is all meaningless if we do not include God in every aspect of it. He is a good Father who wants only what is best for his children. How many of us go through our day and rarely acknowledge His presence? There are so many ways he wants to connect with us, and that connection is more obtainable than we think.

Let us purpose today to live life to the fullest, the way God intended by including Him in our everyday choices. The more we seek Him, the more we will find ourselves drawing closer to Him and life won’t ever be the same again. The things we once felt robbed of will no longer have meaning or the same kind of impact.

I encourage you to simply open your world just a little wider and make room for the most important relationship you will ever encounter.

Lord, we ask that You would show us how to draw closer to You. Forgive us for making decisions without You. We need Your wisdom and discernment in all areas of our lives. Teach us how to walk daily with You, so that we may live life to the fullest as You intended for us. Amen.
