Day 39 – God’s Faithfulness

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

I could probably fill hundreds of pages with stories of how God has proven Himself faithful. When I moved to Las Vegas it was with my mom, stepdad, and sister. I did not come willingly and, in fact, I was trying to figure out how to stay in California. One night, God said, “Move with your family and I will take care of you.” I moved and in the 25-plus years I have been here, God has never failed to take care of me. He always provided the right church at the right time. He has always put the right people in my life when I needed them. I am not saying it hasn’t been a roller coaster, because it has. I am saying through it all God has been faithful. When God makes a promise, He is faithful to keep it. He keeps those promises in His perfect timing, not our flawed timing. In the Bible, God made promises to Abraham, Joseph, and David. They had to wait and, in some cases, go through difficult times before they saw the fulfillment of the promise. God knows the future and He knows the perfect time and way to fulfill the promises He has made. Keep pressing into God and trusting Him because He is faithful.

“I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.

A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”

Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (NIV)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness. I confess and acknowledge that even when your timing doesn’t make sense to me, I know you will keep your promise. Help me to trust in your timing. When I start to doubt, remind me of all of the ways you have been faithful. Help me to remember that you see the bigger picture and I do not; that you are God and your timing is perfect. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, amen.
